Objective
The Erasmus+ Programme – mobility for study offers the possibility to spend a period of studies at Riga Technical University for Bachelor (2nd & 3rd year) and Master Students (2nd year) from the University of Sfax.
Mobility students will be awarded a scholarship, will attend courses and will use all the facilities of Riga Technical University on an equal basis as the enrolled students.
The purpose of student’s mobility is to participate in the courses at RTU. The project does not provide internship mobility.
All passed exams previously approved in the Learning Agreement, will be recognised by the home institution (University of Sfax).

Exchange students can ONLY choose study courses from this list https://international.rtu.lv/courselist-20162017/ . Any other courses will not be available for study. Students can have between 25-33 ECTS choosing study courses from various faculties as long as having the necessary prior knowledge, however, please note that:
– Due to limited spots, only those students, whose main major is Business/Management/Economics, are eligible to choose courses from the Faculty of Engineering Economics;
– The courses from the Faculty of E-Learning Technologies and Humanities are available only to philology/translation major students;
– Bachelor students cannot choose master level study courses;
– There will be NO STUDY COURSES from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and field of Logistics.
There will be study courses offered from the following faculties:
- FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE (master courses only);
- FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY;
- FACULTY OF E-LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES AND HUMANITIES (for translation majors only);
- FACULTY OF ENGINEERING ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT (for Economics/Business/Management majors only);
- FACULTY OF ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS;
- FACULTY OF POWER AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING;
- FACULTY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, TRANSPORT AND AERONAUTICS;
- FACULTY OF MATERIALS SCIENCE AND APPLIED CHEMISTRY.
As to the general courses, RTU offers “Latvian Language” and “the History and Culture of Latvia” during the exchange semester. It is a great chance to get to know the culture and traditions of local people and provides usual knowledge of daily life in Latvia.
STUDY PROCESS DURING THE COVID-19
Due to the pandemic in a.y 2020/2021 all theoretical courses, except practical, lab works and exams, are taking place remotely. The mode of lectures in a.y 2021/2022 shall be defined in accordance with the up-to-date safety measures introduced by the Latvian Government closer the a.y.
Financing
The Erasmus+ for study scholarships are contributions to support living costs in the hosting country.
Monthly Scholarship: 800 €
Travel costs: 360 €
Conditions and procedures
General conditions for admittance
The candidate student must be enrolled at the University of Sfax that signed the Inter Institutional Agreement within the framework of Erasmus + Programme, with Riga Technical University.
Please find the relevant dates for this second semester awarding period (September 2021)
The student must be preselected and nominated by the University of Sfax, students will have a Skype Interview in accordance to which the final acceptance decision shall be taken.

- Scanned FULL passport copy
- Official proof of English language proficiency at least level B1 according to CEFR or any equivalent (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge);
- Official transcript of records in English (From the Bac)
- Acknowledgement of enrolment
- Short CV
- Motivation letter
- Certificate of enrolment
- Learning Agreement signed by the student, the academic tutor and the director of the home institution (see Annex) Please complete only “Before the mobility section Table A & Table B”
All documents in Arabic should be translated into English language.
